This privacy policy applies to the website rujitsuki.dev. My apps have their own privacy policies, which you’ll find on the respective app page.
In short: I don’t set any cookies, don’t use any tracking or analytics tools and don’t load any content from third parties. For secure and fast delivery, the website runs through Cloudflare.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Niklas Ruzycki

2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Prepaid-Hoster (prepaid-hoster.de) on servers located in Germany. Every time a page is accessed, the server automatically processes data transmitted by your browser and stores it in so-called server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- page or file requested
- amount of data transferred and HTTP status code
- website from which you reached the page (referrer)
- browser and operating system used (user agent)
This data is technically necessary to display the website to you and to ensure its stability and security, for example to detect attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. The log files are not combined with other data, are not used to analyze your usage behavior and are automatically deleted after a short period.
The hosting provider processes this data on my behalf. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
3. Cloudflare
To protect against attacks and for fast delivery, this website runs through the Cloudflare network. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Every request to the website is first received by a Cloudflare server, which forwards it to my hosting provider. For this purpose, Cloudflare processes in particular your IP address and the connection data listed in section 2.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely, reliably and quickly, for example by protecting it against overload attacks (DDoS). Cloudflare processes the data on my behalf; the data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is part of Cloudflare’s terms of service. Processing in the USA is possible. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
If Cloudflare detects suspicious traffic, a technically necessary security cookie (e.g. “__cf_bm” or “cf_clearance”) may be set to distinguish between humans and bots. This is done on the basis of Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Encryption
This website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted HTTPS connection (TLS). As a result, data transmitted between your browser and the server cannot be read by third parties.
5. Cookies, tracking and external content
I don’t set any cookies and don’t use any tracking, analytics or advertising services (for possible security cookies set by Cloudflare, see section 3). Fonts and images are served directly from my own server; no third-party content (e.g. Google Fonts, videos or maps) is embedded.
6. Storage in your browser (Local Storage)
If you switch between the light and dark theme using the toggle in the navigation, your choice (“light” or “dark”) is stored in your browser’s Local Storage so that it is kept for your next visit. This information remains exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to me or to third parties.
This storage is strictly necessary for this function, which you have expressly requested, and therefore takes place without consent on the basis of Section 25(2) No. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG). You can delete the entry at any time by clearing the website data in your browser.
7. Contact by email
If you send me an email, I process your email address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message in order to respond to your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in responding to your request. If your request relates to a contract or steps prior to entering into a contract, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Emails to addresses at rujitsuki.dev are forwarded via Cloudflare’s forwarding service (Cloudflare Email Routing, see section 3 for the provider) to my Google Mail (Gmail) inbox. Cloudflare only forwards the emails and, according to its own information, does not store their content. The provider of Gmail is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. As the provider of the inbox, Google processes the emails under its own responsibility in accordance with its privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). A transfer to Cloudflare, Inc. or Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out; both companies are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR).
I delete your message once your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations prevent this.
8. Links to other websites
This website contains links to other services, such as GitHub or the app stores. As long as you don’t click a link, no data is transmitted to these providers. Once you click, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
9. Your rights
You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
To exercise your rights, simply send an email to [email protected].
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where I process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. I will then no longer process your data unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
10. No automated decision-making
There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
11. Changes to this privacy policy
I update this privacy policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
